Technician Fifth Grade Miskelly, an aid man, was attached to an infantry platoon when the patroon came under heavy enemy fire, Technician Fifth Grade Miskelly with disregard for his own personal safety, made his way to the wounded soldiers and rendered first aid. When the enemy fire ceased in intensity, litter teams were moved up to remove the wounded. The enemy, observing this movement, renewed their fire and two of the litter bearers fell seriously wounded. Again placing duty above his own personal safety, Technician Fifth Grade Miskelly moved through the enemy fire to the side of the two wounded men and successfully administed fir aid.
