Private First Class Charles H. Harvey was on 14th November 1944 coming back from a small patrol in the vecinity of Würselen/Rhine Province, Germany. A burst of submachine gun fire caught them halfway, and Harvey was hit, and died instantly. He became the first deadly casualty of the 84th Infantry Division in the ETO campaign.
