Biography

Service numbers 810145 / 64892, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserves.

Abrey Cyril baker joined the Royal Air Force as groundcrew in 1935 and was trained to be pilot in 1939. In April 1941 he became operational. Baker was honorably discharged in 1946 and died in 1978.

24th April 1941: Pilot Officer on probation (seniority 9th April 1941);
24th April 1942: Flying Officer (war sub);
24th April 1943: Flight Lieutenant (war sub).
