2nd Lieutenant Harvey E. Williamson, 01319697, Platoon Leader, Company D, 394th Infantry, was awarded the Silver Star Medal for gallantry in action against the enemy on 16 December 1944, in Germany. During the intense artillery barrage Lt. Williamson lest his foxhole to give aid to an injured man from Company B, 394th Infantry, when all others refused. His clothes were torn by flying shrapnel and his helmet knocked off, but he succeded in carrying the man back to cover. Lt. Williamson is missing in action.
