Biography

George A. Reeves was born on January 8th, 1915 in Cordell, Oklahoma as the son of George Asa Reeves Sr. and Jessie Bretch Reeves. In 1920 the family moved to Oklahoma City. George attended the Whitier Elementary School, Roosevelt Junior High School and the Classen High School. He went to college at the Oklahoma A&M College (Oklahoma State University), where he graduated as Electrical Engineer in 1937. He also became 2nd Lieutenant with the US Army Reserves. He married Dorothy Kirchner on January 21sr, 1938.

In may 1941 he was drefted for a period of one year to the US Army Signal Corps, which became eventually five years. In 1942 he was tranferred to the Pacific and served on Guadalcanal, Espiritu Santo and Okinawa.

After the Second World War he started working with his father and brother at the First Mortgage Company. During the Korean War he was again called to active service. He retired form the US Army Reserves in 1957 as a Colonel. George Reeves died on May 10th, 2005.
