"For meritorious service from 17 February 1945 to 18 February 1945, in the vicinity of Auersmacher, Germany. Acting in the capacity of truck driver and guard, Private Scott traversed a road partially in enemy hands and unswept for enemy mines to delivery urgently needed supplies and equipment to an isolated infantry battalion. When their advance was haulted by the presence of an enemy anti-tank ditch, ha assisted in the capture of seven of the enemy who were defending it. Prior to daylight, he returned over the same road, evacuating wonder men. His devotion to duty and disregard for personal safety are exemplary of the finest traditions of the military service. Entered military service from Escanaba Michigah."
