Biography

Samuel Onion was born on June 29th, 1913 as son to Albert & Jane Ann Onion (nee Lovatt)
He was Married to Edith Sandall and had two daughters, Brenda (born 1938) and Margaret (born 1939).
On May 10th, 1945 he was killed in Soest due to an explosion which occurred on the terrain where material of disarmed German troops was concentrated. He was buried in Hilversum on May 12th, 1945. He served as Private with the 1st Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment.
