William (Bill) Kirlin was born January 22, 1920 as the youngest of the family. he grew up in Shillington, a suburb of Reading, PA. He had four sisters and a brother. William was the radio operator of the B24 Liberator "Baggy Maggy" 409 Sq. 93BG, that made ​​an emergency landing around 17:00 on September 18, 1944 in the vicinity of Baarle-Nassau. Of the ten crew members Bill Kirlin was the only one that was killed.
