    "On the 3rd September when 13th Brigade was attacking HOUQUET FARM - SSt. Sharp was in charge of telephone lines from POZIERES to Battalions. He showed great gallantry and devotion to duty during the action. He repeatedly went out and mended telephone lines aslo ran new ones under very heavy fire. It was owing to his splendid work that telephone communication to Battalions was continuously maintained."

    "For most conspicious gallantry and devotion to duty on the 3rd May 1918, near VILLERS BRETONNEUX.
    This officer with great disdain of danger was throughout the operation continuously exposed to the enemy barrage which was very heavy repairing broken telephone lines. His fearless conduct and untiring energy enabled communication between Brigade Headquarters Forward Battalion Headquarters and French Headquarters on our Right Flank to be maintained constantly during the operation which was of the utmost value in obtaining the situation from time to time."
