Edward William Grus was born on November 6th, 1914. His grandfather was bornin Germany. At the age of 6, Edward lost his father. He also had an older brother who died at the age of 14, Edward then was 10 years old. He entered service ar Baltimore, Maryland on February 12th, 1941. Just prior that date he had met Betty. He was killed in action on April 18th, 1945. At that time, Betty was pregnant but lost the baby.
