"For meritorious service in connection with military operations against the enemy during the period from 13 december 1944 to 27 February 1945 in the vicinity of xxxx, xxxx, Captain Lenassi, supply officer, has worked with tireless energy and determination to supply this battalion and Division with engineer supplies during a period of operations through a fortified zone. In addition to regular supplies, Captain Lenassi supplied tons of barbed wire, several thousand mines of all types and tons of explosives for defensives operations. These materials were difficult to obtain at that time and presented a serious transportation problem over roads covered with ice and snow. The efficiency and initiativedisplayed by Captain Lenassi are in accordance with the highest military traditions."
