Biography

He was a Dutch resistance member who hid, moved and saved many Jewish people in Holland during the Second World War. He came to the UK in 1950, married an English nurse, Margaret, and lived in the UK for the rest of his life. However, he retained his Dutch nationality for life. This historical error is mentioned in "The Righteous" by historian Martin Gilbert.
