Biography

John (Jack) served in the regular army in the 1930’s he was army reserve before the war. He was called up to join the British Expeditionary Force in 1939 as part of the Royal Army Service Corps. He fought at Dunkirk and was medically invalided out of the army after being pulled off the beaches.

Military career:

13 September 1927: Enlisted in the Royal Army Service Corps.
12 September 1933: Transferred to the Army reserve.
31 July 1939: Back to active service.
17 September 1939: posted to France
10 September 1942: Discharged. Medically unfit due to wounds.
