Recommendation:
Serving in the Militaire Luchtvaartdienst in the Dutch-East Indies, for having displayed exceptional courage, tactful conduct and perseverance in successfully completimg numerous combat and reconnaissance missions. After having been attacked during a patrol on February 18, 1943, by a hostile majority, he managed to prevent a collision with his own formation after his port engine had been severly damaged by enemy fire.
