Recommendation:
He has distinguished himself in combat against the enemy as reserve chaplain on February 14, 1946 when during an attack on an enemy position on a hill between the Kampongs of Petaling and Tjingkongabang (Bangka) some of our men were injured; he courageously went forward under heavy enemy fire, although he had been warned to wait, administered the last rites to these injured men and in performing this humane task, he sustained fatal injuries.
