Citation:
"On Sept 25, 1943, when 3 Coldm Gds attacked Hill 270, a small joint R.A.P. was set up on the ridge behind ths hill. This R.A.P. was worked by Capt Forgan and Capt Chestnut, attached 6 Grenadier Guards. these two Doctors worked all that afternoon and cause to the conclusion that owing to the distance of carry for stretcher bearers from the battle area to R.A.P. that a forward R.A.P. ?ust be established up with the leading Coy.
This R.A.P. was established and run by Capt Forgan who worked tirelessly throughout the evacuation of wounded, under shell fire for the majority of the time in almost impossible conditions. His skill in organisation under extreme difficulties, his disregard for his personal safety undoubtedly saved the lives of a great many of those who passed through the forward R.A.P.
His devotion to duty and his calm and personalattention to the wounded under these hazardous conditions were superb."
