Biography

Paul Becker was killed during battles near Nijmegen on September 26th, 1944. At that moment he served as Unteroffizier.
According to data he was part of "Ger. Pionier Corps 7092". These probably are data noted by the Allied forces during his burial in the garden of the Jonkerbosch hospice in Nijmegen. Possibly this was the 2. Kompanie, Pionier-Abteilung 709, but beceause this unit was destroyed in France a few months before this is not certain. Later his body was transferred to a mass grave at the Algemene Begraafplaats at Graafseweg in Nijmegen. When the remains were transferred to Ysselsteyn in 1950, no identification could be made and he was reburied as an unknown soldier.
