Biography
SS-Untersturmführer Karlheinz Gieseler served with 3. SS-Panzer-Division 'Totenkopf' then as Stosstruppführer in SS-Sonderverband z.b.V. Friedenthal renamed SS-Jäger-Bataillon 502 and perhaps also in the SS-Fallschirmjäger-Bataillon 500. Attached as Stosstruppführer to the 11. SS-Panzergrenadier-Division "Nordland."during the Batle of Berlin, SS-Ustuf Gieseler is credited with 11 tanks destroyed singlehandedly in April 1945.
He is supposed to be a winner of the Knight's cross in the 29-4-1945, as SS-Untersturmführer and Stoßtruppführer in the 11.SS-Pz.Gren.Div. "Nordland". However this recipient is a no official KC holder.
