On the 22.02.1945 the 6./A.R. 126 constituted a particularly steadfast bulwark in the defensive scheme of the 126. Infanterie-Division. The unit resisted with great success despite the great pressure that was placed upon it. During the course of the combat on this day the Batterie commander, Leutnant Neumann, fell in battle. He would later be awarded the Knight’s Cross for his brave actions on this day.
