Unit:

Awarded on:
March 31st, 1944
"This English speaking Polish NCO was attached to "A" Company, 3/6th Queen's Royal Regiment for the crossing of the R. GARIGLIANO in the night of 17th Jan, 1944. Immediately after crossing the river the Company ran into mines, and one of the two leading Platoon Commanders and a dozen men were wounded, when three mines went up. This NCO immediately got in front and encouraged the remainder forward, showing a fine disregard for his personal safety. On reaching the enemy wire, he halted the men, cut it himself, and then led them through. He then stayed with the officer-less Platoon and led it forward to the road, and up to its objective.

L/Cpl Rozen showed exceptional powers of unders** for his rank and a complete disregard for his personal safety, and was instrumental in getting the leading Platoons on to their objective."
