"Colonel Angerman has worked with and under my command before Cassino, again at the Gothic Line and throughout the last period of operations. He has also worked with 2 and 3 AA Brigades at different times during the Italian Campaign. Throughout there has been the closest and most friendly co-operation between British and Polish AA, Colonel Angerman whose ability and knowledge of AA is outstanding has been by his personality been or largely responsible for the excellent mutual understanding and for the undoubted efficiency of the regiment under his command.

I strongly recommend that for his service in the Allied cause and in recognition of the contribution of the Polish AA in this Theatre, he is awarded the O.B.E."
