"This Polish N.C.O. was landed on the coast of Brittany on the 26th March 1944, as Wireless Operator to an escape organisation in France. During his three weeks stay at Montmorency (about six weeks after his arrival in France) he transmitted regularly and efficiently for his organiser; moreover, he considerably increased his risks by asking for permission to send messages for a Polish organisation which lacked W/T contacts.

This meant that the number of his transmissions was materially increased at a time when he was not yet fully equipped or organised. He was also forced by circumstances at times to work away from his living quarters owing to curfew restrictions.

Corporal Jakubowski readily and knowingly undertook all these risks in order to use the available facilities to the utmost in the service of the common cause.

After leaving Montmorency, he became Wireless Operator for two other organisers who were out of touch with London owing to the arrest of their Wireless Operator. His efficient and painstaking transmissions greatly helped to exfiltrate several Allied airmen and agents. He continued to transmit with the greatest regularity before, during and after the liberation of Paris.

In recognition of the excellent services rendered by this N.C.O. of his courage and tireless devotion to duty, it is recommended that he be awarded the British Empire Medal (Mil) (Hon.)."
