Biography

Corrie ten Boom grew up in Haarlem and becam, after having received training in Switserland, the first female watchmaker in the Netherlands.
During the Second World War, Corrie and het sister Betsie lived at home with her father, her mother had died before the war. The family sheltered people in their house and were betrayed to the Germans. The Gestapo arrested them on February 28th, 1944 but did not mange to find the people they were hiding. Father ten Boom and the two sisters were imprisoned and father ten Boom died in prison. The two sisters Corrie and Betsie were transported to Oranjehotel and later concentrationcamp Ravensbrück. Betsie died there on December 16th, 1944 and Corrie was released a few days later due to an administrative error.
After the war Corrie became an evengelist and emigrated at higher age to the United States.
