Biography

Theo Meert was professional military from March 7th, 1924 until February 16th, 1955 in the Dutch Marine Corps. On May 10th, 1940 he was Sergeant and sporting instructor with the KIM in Den Helder, the Netherlands. He helped evacuate members of the MIT to England aboard the Hr. Ms. Medusa and completed their training at Enys House in England. On June 14th, 1944 he was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant Marines and added to the Mariniers Brigade after which he served two more years in the Dutch East Indies.
