Biography

William Jackson was the gunner on board the Vickers Wellington X3279 JN-M from No. 150 Squadron, when this plane was shot down by Oberleutnant Ludwig Becker from 6. Staffel, Nachtjagdgeschwader 2. The bomber crashed in the Waddensea, East of Ameland. All crewmembers, besides Edwards, Observer Kenneth Stoddart Preston (1913-1942), Co-pilot Sergeant Leonard Thomas Baker (1918-1942), Pilot Flying officer Malcolm James Larke Blunt (1915-1942), Gunner Sergeant Gwilym Thomas Edwards (1919-1942) and Gunner Sergeant Stanley James Morgan (-1942), were all killed.
