"On 25 July 44 at Chamol, when forward Coy was engaged in attacking the enemy position, enemy started infiltrating to occupy a hill feature on their flank and overlooking Bn.H.W. position, his Pl was ordered to capture this feature at all costs. The leading Pl was approaching the top of the feature over the open ground, when enemy L.G.M. opened up from a bunker on a flank at a range. Seeing this No. 3790 Sep TELU RAM who was covering the advance with his Bren Gun opened fire on the enemy position. Realizing that fire from his gun would not touch the enemy in theid bunker position, inspite of heavy enemy fire he left his gun and rushed forward with two grenades. The first one he threw, missed the target but the second landed inside and knocked out enemy L.G.M. and killed three Japs.
No. 3790, Sep. Telu Ram's utter contept for danger inspired all his PL and enemy position was captured.
On a previous occasion during an attack on KHUDEI KHANOU although himself under heavy enemy M.M.G. fire he kept on covering his Pl's advance and saved many casualties.
No. 3790 Sep. Ram's conduct throughout the operations has been most gallant and praiseworthy."
