The NSKK Badge of Loyalty was established in 1941 and was awarded to Dutch volunteers in the NSKK for special service in the motorized WA. The badge was also awarded for showing great courage, loyalty and faithfulness.
The decision behind an award lay with the Banleider with input from the liaison officer of the NSKK-Gruppe Luftwaffe.
The award is associated with those who served in Russia during the winter of 1941-1942, were wounded at Milorowo or volunteered for guard duties in Makajewka.
The badge officially consisted of three classes: Bronze, Silver and Gold, although the Gold version was probably never awarded. Fixed award dates were set for the Bronze and Silver classes. In rare cases, this was deviated from.
