Krzyz Zaslugi za Dzielnosc

The Krzyz Zaslugi za Dzielnosc which was instituted in 1922 and discontinued in 1944 was renewed and instituted on October 16th, 1992. De medal was kept the same but the ribbon was renewed.

The decoration can be awarded to police officers, officers of the internal and military security services, border guards, custon workers, fire workers and military for deeds of exceptional courage when in dange of life or health. The decoration can be awarded multiple times to one person and is awarded by the President of the Polish Republic on recommendation by the minister of internal affairs or the minister of defence. At this moment this is the third decoration of merit in line.
