Saxony (1809-1918, Grand Duchy)
The Grand Duchy of Saxony was formed in 1877 by changing the name of the Grand Duchy Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. The Grand Duchy is not to be mistaken by the Saxon Kingdom which was a neigbouring country. Nowadays the Grand Duchy is a part of the Federal State of Thuringia.
