DEURNE | 19 | The Regt moved to DEURNE 6520 in preparation for operation 'NUTCRACKER' which was the capture of AMERIKA and HORST. One Sqn. was to support 1 Hereford moving from HELNAWEEN to AMERIKA, whilst the remainder of the Regt. moved behind 15/19th H. and K.S.L.I. to GREENSVELD - AMERIKA and were then to continue the advance to HORST. Owing to the continuous rain that fell during the month it was quite impossible to go off the roads and these were already so bad, that the operation was finally carried out without tank support. |
