695095 | 13 | At 1100 hrs Lt McCONACHY accompanied by one OR went off on a recce patrol for the purpose of entering MEIJEL and remaining there for 24 hours. Other mine-clearing and recce patrols also took place during the hrs of darkness. At 2000 hrs Lt McCONACHY's patrol returned with the infm that MEIJEL appeared to be clear of enemy, and that civilians were beginning to emerge from their houses and carry on with their normal work.
