Approx 1330 hrs Capt Burton reported one A.Tk gun destroyed – 15/19 Hussars advancing on other A.Tk guns as yet unlocated. Soon after this Capt. Burton’s tank was hit and written off. Capt. Burton evacuated in critical condition – remainder of crew also evacuated though less seriously wounded. At 1815 hrs recce parties proceeded to area 3274. Major Kreiser and Capt. Spence with 3 R.T.R. advanced to HELCHTEREN X rds. Capt. Spence remained in observation of village of LAAK. |
