22   The Bn made the final stage in the move up, moving into a posn at NYLEN. The enemy were holding the North bank of the ESCAUT Canal thinly, but had been sending patrols across it, principally in search of food. The Bn was consequently tactically dispersed with Standing Patrols fwd. There was nothing however to report. Contact with 8 Cdn Recce Regt indicated that the enemy had nearly completed withdrawal.
