WAR DIARY or INTELLIGENCE SUMMARY |
Army Form C.2118 |
Unit: 9 Brit Inf Bde | ||
Month and Year: September 1944 | (Erase heading not required). | Commanding Officer: Brig. G.D. Browne |
Place | Date | Hour | Summary | Reference |
---|---|---|---|---|
18 | 2250 | The Luftwaffe subjected tps of the Bde to a short sharp bombing attack in the marshalling area and though there seemed to be a number of planes employed the only damage caused was to a wireless truck with 2 Lincolns. The attack seemed significant in view of our move up to cross the canal it may be interpreted that the enemy has divined our intentions. Only of nuisance value the raid has not upset any plans. |
