27 | 1845 | As soon as the oration finished the Germans commenced to plaster the area with mortar and shell fire, thus indicating by his awareness that our scheme had got over to him. In pouring rain the cavalcade of propagandists drove off after arranging to repeat the dose at 0700 hrs tomorrow morning. A very interesting experiment with the open nature of the countryside preventing the load speaker van from getting any nearer to the enemy. |
