SPRATTON GRANGE, Northants 6   O.C. visited detachment at West Dean, Salisbury, Wilts. Considerable improvement in camp and conditions.
9   O.C. called via CRASC to conference at Rear H.Q. Second Army covering future role of unit and particularly the carrying of Army H.Q. on operation “Overlord”.
10   O.C. visited O2E regarding low medical category personnel and deficiencies. To receive attention.
11   Advance party moved under unit orders to new location near Army H.Q.
12   Main party moved with Coy H.Q. to new location. O.C. remained at Spratton to co-ordinate collection of large quantities of stores and equipment. Detachment from West Dean moved to same location.
13   O.C. moved with W/S to new location at PURBROOK, HANTS. Rear party left at Spratton to clean up. Lt. Ware was involved in an accident yesterday at about 1600 hrs. Riding m/c he ran into the back of a QL Troop Carrier. Sustained slight injuries and taken to hospital at Havant.
PURBROOK, Hants 14   As this is to be regarded as concentration area for this unit, operational waterproofing was begun today.
15   O.C. visited CRASC and went to Army Forms Depot, Wandsworth re urgent items.
16   O.C. proceeded to Stratton to arrange collection of new Platoon of vehicles by rear party (’C’ Pl.)
17   After a long day’s telephoning, arrangements made for collection of vehicles at Shrewsbury and Sevenoaks. Oi/c W/S and vehicle driving party went for this purpose via Spratton for the night. O.C. to London.
18   Vehicle party went to Shrewsbury and back to Stratton for the night. Handing over at Spratton completed satisfactory. O.C. proceeded to Sevenoaks to see the vehicles and arranged collection & on to Purbrook afterwards.
19   Oi/c W/S returns having supervised collection of 33 QL Bedford T.C. at Sevenoaks and nearby.
20   Rear party and whole of vehicles return to this new location.
22   Capt. W. Miller-Jones posted from 401 Coy.
23   CRASC 2 Tk. Tpt. Coln. RASC visited unit in new location. O.C. went to Army Forms Depot re urgent papers etc.
24   O.C. returned in morning.
25   Unit now attached to H.Q. Second Army direct.
27   Lt. A.C. Thirlaway RASC attached this unit posted to 401 Coy RASC (Troop Carrying)
30   20 drivers arrived posted to this unit by instruction of GHQ 21 Army Group. All new to Army.
31   20 more drivers arrived posted by instruction of War Office.
