On Thursday afternoon, September 19, 2024, a plaque was unveiled for George A. Bowers and Robert W. Thompson, Airborne soldiers of the 11th Battalion of the Parachute Regiment. Both had died and were buried by civilians during the war in a field grave in what is now the De Calluna playground. After the war, George Bowers and Robert Thompson were reburied at the Airborne War Cemetery in Oosterbeek, graves 28.C.9. and 28.C.10. Thompson's family members attended the ceremony. Later in the afternoon, the relatives laid flowers at the graves in Oosterbeek.
