Photo report Airborne commemoration Air Despatch Memorial Oosterbeek
On Sunday afternoon, September 22, the annual commemoration was held at the Air Despatch Memorial in Oosterbeek. During the Battle of Arnhem, the Air Despatchers were the men who had to push the loads out of the transport aircraft during resupply flights. This was dangerous work. Many Air Despatchers were killed.
