Action:
Royal Decree dated January 8th, 1949, no. 36, a Royal Mention in Dispatches is hereby awarded to this vessel with the following wording:
1. For having been attacked on numerous ocassions by formations of Japanese bombers and having prevented direct hits on the vessel by skillful handling on February 4th, 15th, and 20th, 1942.
2. For having participated in an action by night in the Sunda Strait against Japanese invasion forces in the night of February 19th, to 20th, the vessel having received 11 direct hits.
3. For having participated in the shelling of Sabang on July 25th, 1944 and having entered the bay accompanied by British destroyers. During this action, four direct hits were received.
4. For having participated in artillery bombardments on shore batteries in the Nicobar and Andaman Islands between April 30th, up until May 7th, 1945
5. For having participated in artillery bombardments on hostile targets in Balik Papan Bay between June 19th up until June 30th, in order to faciliate the sweeping of mines.
6. For having participated in artillery bombardments on hostile targets between July 1st up until July 6th, in support of the Allied landings in the vicinity of Balik Papan.
7. For having participated in a most intense manner in the protection of the Allied Merchant Fleet during World War Two.
