Formed as 57th Bomber Aviation Regiment of the air forces of the Baltic Fleet. Later redesignated as 57th Dive Assault Aviation Regiment of the air forces of the Baltic Fleet. On 1 March 1943 redesignated as 7th Guards Dive Assault Aviation Regiment of the air forces of the Baltic Fleet.
