The headquarters of Heeresgruppe B and the OKW, were both ordered by Hitler in 1944 to draft a plan for an attack in the Ardennes. The plan of Heeresgruppe B, comanded by Feldmarschall Walter Model was given the code name Herbstnebel. In the end, the revised plan by the OKW was chosen.
