First operational mission by Palmach (the elite unit of the Hagana, the army of the Jewish community in the British Mandate area of Palestine) to sabotage Libyan oil refineries in Tripoli. The mission ended in total disaster, because on May 18, 1941 the ship went lost due to a still unknown cause and all 23 commandos and a British officer were killed.
