Jacob Aaldert de Fockert was part of the 7e Compagnie, IIIe Bataljon, Regiment Stoottroepen formed from the Regiment Commando Barabant. He left Liverpool for the Dutch East Indies on October 12th, 1945 on board the s.s. Alcantara. Her he was wounded on April 5th, 1946 and for a long period remained in hospital in Pankal Pinang and later in Batavia. He returned to Rotterdam, the Netherlands on April 27th, 1948.
