Biography
On 30 October 1944 batallion commander Major Kofler was heavily wounded while leading a counterattack from the defense line at the Narev river northwest of Ostenburg (now Pultusk, Poland). One day later he died in a field hospital at the Sanko 2/5 H.V.Pl.Ortslaz.Zebry-Taraly. He is buried on the war cemetery near Oldaki, Poland.
