Biography

Wilma ‘Dolly’ Vinsant volunteered for service in September 1942 and was an air evacuation nurse in the US Army Nurse Corps. As a nurse, she cared for wounded soldiers transferred by air from the front to hospitals in England and the United States. On 14 April 1945, Wilma made her last flight. The Douglas C-47 Skytrain in which she was flying crashed over Germany on 14 April 1945: all six occupants were killed in the crash. She is one of four women buried at Margraten.
