28.09.1943: On this day the Soviets penetrated into the village of Wischnewskij (25 km east of Michailowka) and reached the village centre. Oberst Kolb dashed from Kampfgruppe to Kampfgruppe, and his men were eventually able to slowly push the Soviets out of the village.

30.09.1943: Kolb and his Regiment were forced to move into new positions near Tscherwonyi-Kochanoje. Here all hostile breakthrough attempts by 6 rifle divisions and 3 tank brigades were repulsed.

07.02.1944: Kolb and his men held the small bridgehead around Ssergejewka, near Nikopol.

20.02.1944: During the Soviet breakout from their Dnieper bridgehead west of Michailowka towards Ingulez, Kolb and his men prevented a deep Soviet penetration near the Hill 2.5 on this day.
