He completed numerous training courses and participated in numerous combat operations including:- Belgium, Romania, Crimea, Sevastopol.
He was promoted to Corporal 01/02/1942
He died at Sevastopol on 07/06/1942 and was buried in the field.
He was awarded the Infantry Assault Badge in Silver and the Crimean Shield.
