"Dr. Samniëng Charumilinda, M.B., Director and medical officer of the Railway Hospital at Tungsong, notwithstanding several interrogations by the Japanese occupation forces, and at great risk to himself, supplied Netherlands prisoners of war at Tungsong with medicines, money and newsreports.
He was instrumental in preparing an escape-attempt which however, owing to the capitulation of Japan, was not executed. Dr. Samniëng Charumilinda acquired great merit and is remembered gratefully by our former P.O.W."
