"Established the first contacts with the prisoners of war already before the appearance of Nai Boon Phong. He frequently acted as agent for Mr. Hempson in carrying letter, money and medicines to the prisoners of war at Kanchanaburi. Nai Olarn ran many risks, the more so as at the time he was in Thai government service."
