Harry was born on March 18, 1916 in Toronto, the son of Dalton Chester Nixon (deceased in 1923) and Clara May Nixon nee Cable of Toronto. They were married in April 1906 in Toronto.
His brothers were Beverly Cable (the executor of his last will) and Anthony Howard (also in the army) Nixon and his sister was Bettie May Surall. His sister-in-law was Phyllis Louise Nixon.
He was a salesman and member of the United Church and his sports were baseball, hockey and rugby.
He enlisted on June 22 1942 in Toronto and he went thereafter on July 1 1943 overseas to the UK.
Harry was killed in action on Saturday March 25 1944 age 28, just 7 days after this 28th birthday due to a crash at the Binnenveldseweg (now Molenhoek-Zuid) in Tubbergen before or after an attack on Berlin in Germany.
The other fallen RCAF crew member was WO II John D. Owen age 23 in grave 3 and the other fallen RAF Volunteer Reserve crew members were Sgt Wilfred H. Broadmore age 21 in grave 6, Sgt John C.A.D. Lavender age 20 in grave 4, Sgt Percival H. Simpkin age 22 in grave 5 and Sgt William Clark age 22 in grave 2.
The other RCAF crew member W/O. II F.B. Magee survived the crash and he could evade then.
He served with the 625 (R.A.F.) Sqdn Royal Canadian Air Force.
